About Trends In A Very General Sense And Jil Sander and the Camel Coat

I honestly have to say that I'm not that "trendy" kinda girl anymore that I was when I was younger and started to excessively spending my time with everything that's 'fashion'.

Trends, like they are provided in most Fashion magazines, and what you can watch in the streets, are only the surface of Fashion, what you see at first.

Although I'm not obsessed with wearing every trend anymore I do still think that Trends are important to Fashion. There are more than just the "how to style a leather jacket"-kinda trends. When many People are wearing leather jackets, it doesn't just mean that leather jackets are super hip now and (what obviously often is the truth, too, sadly) nobody wants to stand out of the crowd.
No, it's something that happened before. It happened in high fashion and the designers haven't just been dressing their models in boring leather jackets, they have used elements of a certain movement, may it be political, socially scientific or a certain aesthetic. As you observe the different Fashion shows you'll be able to recognize these elements as they appear to follow a few different lines. I call these lines the true trends or, (i just love that word) zeitgeist.

I wanted to get this straight before talking about this trend - Camel Coats:
I acctually wondered, why I didn't notice an emphasis on Jil Sander in connection with the current camel coat trend. Jil Sander INVENTED the simplicity of the camel coats, and now they have such a comeback and nobody talks about that?
I did some research and realized that the latest womanswear collections include not a single camel-colored coat. (I have to enclose that they DO verge on the, i'd call it Bauhaus/70s/turtleneck-with-coat-or-blazer - aesthetic, a little bit at least)
But instead of that the menswear collection picks that thought up even better.
As I am a strong believer in the unisexness Fashion, here you go, the best details of the AW15 menswear collection of Jil Sander!

Although, I need to add that I think that this collection looks like a whole lot of the latest collections of any designer, regardless of whether womans- or menswear. Not earth-shattering.

FASHION: Viktor And Rolf Haute Couture AW 15/16: Wearable Art

click

Haute Couture at a point where it LITERALLY goes fuzzy with art: Viktor and Rolf created a Collection which just screams at us about HOW MUCH fashion is art.

The reason why I decided to talk about this collection here is that I am a supporter of both, fashion and art, so I love the idea of using fashion as a symbol of how we are enveloped in art in our daily lifes.

Applying this idea on the runway show works in divers dimensions:
Take the metaphysical world behind an artwork and regard it as the muse. And also take the physical form it takes as becoming an artwork. Now, whatever emotional, aesthetic or psychologial challenge it may offer to decode the metaphysical world behind the artwork, when you look at it you start making associations and at this point you maybe realize that art is NOT seperate from life, it is the description of the lifes we lead.

Now while looking at the creations of this collection you may recognize that the designers idea of wearable art is executed in a way that emphasizes the conzept of blurring the borders between the metaphsical and the physical world by using breaking up the frames as a figure of speech.
As they do this they make the art flexible and more likely to literally wrap the human being in art. They show how fashion (equals art, equals haute couture etc) is for everyone who cares about the way art, in it's very divers physical forms it takes, enriches our being.

So maybe they want to tell us how we all are interested in art in some way.

I do love indicators for zeitgeist. Tumblr is one. I use to go to specific blogs, that I would declare as the greatest and freest blogs which are flowed through with art as I would describe it.
I recognized a tendency for being interested in art is en vogue. Just look at all these kinda pictures where super hip people stand in front of an artwork in a museum and are photographed from backwards.

let's do some maths:
if ZEITGEIST = TUMBLR; TUMBLR= INTEREST IN ART; INTEREST IN ART = ZEITGEIST; THIS COLLECTION = INTEREST IN ART;
THIS COLLECTION = ZEITGEIST

So NOW we are at the point, again, to let me decribe why I was so captured by this runway show when I first found it.
Viktor and Rolf perfectly executed their idea of zeitgeist.

Maybe I found a voice to create an output of what happens in my mind when I see runway shows, because I struggle a lot to put my love for fashion in words.
I hope so,
keep up reading my blog and always stay a loving soul,
xoxo, lullabad

URBAN GARDENING: Plant your own Avocado

How to.... Plant an avocado!!!!!!!! yeay what else

An Avocado tree is a beauty-ass plant. Exactly for that reason it is wonderful to see one grow. It takes some years to actually have a plentiful tree, but you will be able to say that you grew it yourself.
Reminds me of answering "thanks I grew it myself" when someone says that you have nice hair.
To return to avocados, I love them, I could eat 10 avocados a day. And I love gardening, its my other hobby apart from sewing clothes. And as I never had a big garden this is perfect for everyone who only has a balcony or just a windowsill. It doesn't matter.

So for whoever never tried to prepare an avocado, and if you actually bought one to grew your own avocado plant, I will just tell you my favorite way to eat them. You will probably love it even if you made bad experiences with them. When I ate an avocado the first time i just spooned it up and I almost got sick from it. Okay that was a bad avocado and the wrong way to eat it.

So do it like this:
1. Mash the avocado (BIO if you want to plant it) with salt, pepper and chilli flakes (yes, chilli flakes, trust me)
2. Toast whole wheat bread
3. Wash fresh green spinach

4. Pile up everything, and put on as much spinach as possible
5. Awh yummie
6. Now EAT IT! :-)

When you are finished taking a break from that hard work and enjoying your delicious and healthy sandwich we can go on to the urban gardening part which i mentioned.

Anyways, you should let the seed dry out for one or two days. When it's dried out take two or three wooden chopsticks and stick them in the avocado stone. Fill a jar with water and Put the seed on the surface of the water. It should now be half covered with water.
After a few weeks it will break up and a sprout will start growing out of it.
That will be the day when you can plant it.

As you can see I didn't plant mine yet but I will give you an update!

Stay healthy and be a loving soul, xoxo Lullabad

TO BE HONEST: Misleading Blogger Hate

As I started Blogging again I had to be reminded of that Hate between Bloggers. The more I connect with other Bloggers i get more and more the Impression, that everything's just about 'Nooooo you are not good enough, I AM way better than you, I will succeed, not you!'.
It's really interesting how it hides behind all these ass-licking comments on how talented the other one is, "but HERE, here's my Blog URL, take a look!"
Of course I am aware of how hard it is to establish a blog and to gain followers, but honestly, I am not here to compete, I am here to collaborate.
Recently I talked to another blogger-girl, and I just wanted to talk to her about blogging kinda things, to know more about her blogging process and about how our blogs look for someone standing outside.
But somehow I felt like this wasn't possible without a certain tension of an unspoken competition. I think she felt criticized for what she does, what I really didn't mean to.
So I had to ask myself if it is possible to be successful with blogging if you are a non-ass-crawling Person and are really just wanting to give everyone a good feeling about themselves.
Why not?
But how?

In general, I really believe in giving more than getting.

...... I will complete this post afterwards, I have to go to my ballet lesson now!!.........
Bye, take a look today evening,
xoxo lullabad, i love you all!

OUTFIT INSPIRATION: Asia Take Away / Hallyu

the people in that asian restaurant stared at me
but the food was delicious tho
Honestly, I got really inspired from that Article in the current german Vogue which is about Seoul, the South Korean Capital city. When Karl Lagerfeld showed the SS16 Resort collection there, the whole fashion-crowd followed him to see it, Jetlag inclusive. It happened, that Seoul, "the city inside a field of tension between eastern tradition and western modernity" advanced as being a general inspiration-source which is très en vogue.

It may be, that saying "western modernity" is a wrong expression since the people in South Korea and other asian countrys have probably the largest technology enthusiasm of the world. in spite of all, it is still a country were's an emphasis on observing traditional values.

I  imagined a  girl who still lives at her parents who have an asian restaurant and had to fight their way, so they instilled the girl certain ways to fit in society. She lives in a confict between being a good girl or being at the zeitgeist and living in a high fashion world.
I got ispired of the combination of red and gold, used a vintage wrap dress, I love the lacing of it, it works a bit like traditional asian costumes. I wrapped a (also vintage) golden glitter blouse around my waist and tied it into the lacing of the dress.
Being all wrapped, tied and laced i felt the little ninja inside me.

Fashion elements related to this subject:
credit: www.lesmads.de
Hanbok: Traditional Korean Costume, very similar to the Chanel version at the right.
Belting under the breast
Layering of wide cuts
-"- fused with tight lacing / tieing / belting
example: roughly belted wide blazer, maybe with a kimono-related cut
Kimonos of course
Raw materials like natural sheep fur
asian embroidery
tassels

As a result I would say that the Vogue editorial  (styled by Christiane Arp) is defenitely very tradition-related.  But what i find great is that the models are very  maskulinely styled what is  a symbol for the modern strong females of the current and coming generation.

Outfit:
Wrap dress ~ Vintage
Golden glitter blouse ~ Vintage
Lace up shoes ~ Mago from like 10 yrs ago sryyy
That bad-ass plastic bag with asia food in it ~ Go look at ya favorite asia reataurant and buy some delicious food, yeay eating is fun!

Occasion: Buying food and eating it on the couch / School

TO BE HONEST: Blogs

How effective are (Fashion-)Blogs?

In the last few years blogging advanced as being the trendiest way to show how creative/ fashionable you are and how sovereign you can handle the digital media for expressing your innermost talents.
I think it may require to redefine the "sovereign" and "express yourself" part of that whole story:
Most fashion blogs I randomly found honestly frustrated me. It seems like there was hardly anybody who worked out an efficient way to blog in a way that was able to give it's readers an access to the Dimensions of their artsy Minds and to show them something truly new. Forgive me that I have to doubt the most popular Blogging stars of our time being that special. It's not that I just don't value their work, keeping up a good Blog is hell of a struggle, but over the last year I thought a lot about how the people who have something truly world changing (or just changing the world for whatever their talents are) in their minds are valued. I talk mostly about people with possessions in different kinds of art, but to me it's always art when you have so many dimensions of it in your mind that you can't simply put it in words and that can also be if you have a possession for maths etc.
The Problem that I see is, that whenever I experienced the world from another artist (by now you should have realized that i define "art" or "artist" different than the usual meaning is), I experienced it through pictures or another kind of art but never with a blog post about a certain subject because the movements or whatever these people capture can't simply be put in an article about how to wear the newest trends if you are apple- or pear shaped.
Let me give you some examples of which people i find really inspiring but sadly don't really share their ideas with the world at large because they are busy with just doing and not explaining:

Have these blogs a voice in between all those shallow fashion blogs? I hope so but the environment I live in gives me more of the impression that people like this don't even exist and if they exist they were not relevant because they are just insane.
To be honest these kind of blogs (or accounts, whatever) kept me alive when I was almost about to abandon my ideas or the urge to find a way to realize my ideas. And these ideas are everything that I am so I might have been abandoning myself. But I live by now.

To come to an end I estimate it to be possible to make the Internet just as efficient as our brains in order to have a way to let every individual give the world a bit more of their fascinating worlds make THIS world a little bit of a better place. Even though it will take a big effort and a lot of time to implement it but somehow I think our digital future isn't even just negative.

Stay questioning my dears! xoxo lullabad

FIRST POST

Hey there,
At first let me explain the Name of my Blog. In all my social Networks I have the Username "lullabad" which is a derivation of "lullaby" but it has something bad in it, like everything has. So i try to be talking about the bad in the security that is plugged into the "lullaby" part, and how we need to think outside our comfort zone even if it feels like it makes something bad come up. In the name of my blog The word "blog" takes the part of the "bad" because I want to talk about things outside my comfort zone.
I was wondering if I should do this blog in German or in English. But i feel way better with expressing myself in English so i'm gonna do it like this. I hope you won't stop reading my Blog because of my English, that, of course, is not as well as if I was a native Speaker. But hey, i'm heading right to my Finals and it will help me I guess.
So, I am not doing this to get better grades in English but just simply for Blogging. I was already blogging before, but on another URL. I just feel like i am at a point of inflection and need to raise something new. On my other Blog i got very inactive, because I first needed to find out what to want from life and from fashion, art and also my from blogging.
I just used to be a young creative teenager with the soul of a tortured artist inside of her and yeah, so on the first Post on this Blog i want to quote the queen of blogging:
"Be happy instead of putting pressure on yourself to be some tortured artist" -Tavi Gevinson at the Sydney Opera House
So I really found some kind of peace. It still feels like some kind of a fragile peacefulness but Meditating helps. It's a Progress and not a thing that works from one day to another. I still feel the hate inside me sometimes, especially when i'm in school and was studying till 2 am, and had just a small amount of sleep and thats also when i start feeling troubeled and feel like everybody is staring at me and then it's very hard to be positive towards others, i am working on it very hard though, but i then i get really insecure and tend to close up myself, but in school it still feels like it is embarrassing if others know my weaknesses.

But this Blog isn't about spirituality. Well, maybe a bit, but it's about me and I am, in the first place, a person, and humans are not just a "one themed blog".
I say this because when i had my last blog, it was very hard to keep it up, because it was simply just a Fashionblog and even though Fashion is like 99% of my life, i can't always write about it. I tend to be very philosophic and it concerns me a lot how to connect Arts like Fashion, Literature, Art itself, Philosophy, Maths, and these things to an essence of everything and how to live in the best way.
This makes my mind racing all the Time and I just want to Blog about what I experience.

Getting back to Fashion, I think it is much deeper than how most Fashionbloggers  write about it and that makes me somehow uncomfortable. I opine to be responsible to give you an idea my Fashion World in this Blog, even though I won't be able to put all of my thoughts in here. This will make me mad but at least i will have tried.

So I started with showing that i am not perfect, what made my last Blog fail, so I hope this Blog will be what I need and maybe some will even read it!

Stay true, xoxo lullabad!
